Colorado State University, 2023

A workshop that gathered international artists, designers, biologists, and social scientists, and humanists to re-imagine multi-species thinking. Over the course of two days, participants were invited to co-create tools for responsible innovation through the practice of making objects. I was tasked with sourcing materials and creative directing the outputs of the workshop, which were photographed beautifully by Jimena Peck.

Programmable Kirigami
Sabin Design Lab, 2018

What if architecture could self-fold the way biology does? Kirigami is an ongoing project investigating programmable cuts and folds at three scales:  the micro-level (DNA origami), the human scale (self-folding material), and the macro-level (a kinetic facade). From 2017-2018 I collaborated with a team of architects and biologists at the Sabin Design Lab to reimagine self-folding architectural structures with DNA hydrogels.
