Programmable KirigamiSabin Design Lab2018 What if architecture could self-fold the way biology does? Kirigami is an ongoing project investigating programmable cuts and folds at three scales: the micro-level (DNA origami), the human scale (self-folding material), and the macro-level (a kinetic facade). From 2017-2018 I collaborated with a team of architects and biologists at the Sabin Design Lab to reimagine self-folding architectural structures with DNA hydrogels.
